Mythos Preview: separate model capability from an enterprise commitment
A stronger model is not, by itself, a reason to replace your enterprise AI stack. We recommend keeping the business task, service entitlement and operating controls as separate approval questions.
The dated evidence
In its 7 April 2026 Project Glasswing announcement, Anthropic described Mythos Preview as an unreleased general-purpose model used with selected organisations for defensive security work. It said it did not plan to make Mythos Preview generally available.1
Anthropic's 22 May initial update described the early programme and the work of verifying, disclosing and patching findings. It does not establish that your business can obtain access or that any particular implementation partner is authorised to provide it.20
These are vendor reports, not Amulet test results. The earlier benchmark list, near-universal exclusion percentage and predictions about which platforms will survive have been removed. This note makes no forecast about a competitor's advantage or a delivery date for broader access.
Three decisions to record
We recommend recording the answers to these questions:
- Need: What specific job is not served by your current process or available native software? Specify its input, acceptable output and the person who accepts it.
- Entitlement: What exact service can you buy and use now, on which terms? Keep an unconfirmed roadmap separate from the operational plan.
- Control: Who approves consequential actions, sees failure evidence and owns the fallback when the service is unavailable?
Do not treat a certification as an automatic model-access key. Ask the provider for the relevant authorisation and scope. Do not infer information-processing locations from a supplier's nationality or the location of a single database.
An immediate no-build option
Before a procurement exercise, document the current workflow and its failure path. A manual process or approved existing tool can remain the fallback while the evidence is gathered. Do not migrate records or permissions merely to reserve a place in a proposed future service.
For the fuller supplier questions, see the Mythos enterprise procurement guide. Use it to ask for specific evidence before making a buying commitment based on an unconfirmed capability.
If the next decision is defining the task rather than choosing a model, discuss the scope with Amulet.

A practical next step
Put AI to work with the operating boundary visible.
Approvals, evidence and the rollout path should be mapped to the real workflow.
